Scheduling FAQs

  • That is completely personal preference! Either way is fine and doing both therapies is a very healing combination.

  • We do not recommend this. If you’re booking a facial, it’s best to use the sauna first. Certain treatments such as dermaplanes and peels require the client to avoid sweating directly after. Avoiding the sauna post facial also ensures you are receiving the best absorption of any products applied during the facial.

  • We currently have the ability to perform 2 massages simultaneously (in separate massage rooms) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am-1pm. You can schedule these online by viewing our schedule and booking each individual appointment with each individual massage therapist, with the same service duration and same start time.

Some couples opt to do back-to-back massage sessions, or book one massage and one other service (a facial, energy healing, astrology reading, sauna session etc.) then switching! Our infrared sauna is a 2 person unit and we only charge for one person when you use it together, so many couples like this option on its own or paired after other services.

Let us help you! We are always happy to help schedule multiple appointments for you to make your spa day as relaxing and seamless as possible, so always feel free to reach out directly via phone, text, or email!

Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna

  • These wavelengths are the invisible part of the sun’s spectrum consisting of near (NIR), mid (MIR), and far (FIR) rays. without the harmful UV rays or risk of burning. These waves have the ability to penetrate human tissue and have a wide variety of healing benefits.

  • Our sauna is a dry sauna with no heavy steam or moisture that makes it difficult to breathe. It feels like the soothing warmth you feel while sitting in the sun.

  • Full spectrum means you are receiving the benefits of all three (near, mid, and far infrared) every time you’re in our sauna!

NIR: cell health/immunity, would healing, skin healing (eczema, psoriasis, acne, etc.) skin vitality, circulation

MIR: pain relief, anti-inflammation, muscular recovery (great for post-workout!), tension relief

FIR: stress relief, cellular level detoxification, relaxation, blood pressure regulation, nervous system regulation, lymphatic/immune support, improves cardiovascular health

  • Those who are pregnant, have pacemakers, have acute injuries, or have an inability to sweat or perceive heat should avoid sauna use. Those with certain heart conditions and other medical conditions should always consult their physician prior to sauna use.

  • It varies depending on the individual’s healing goals and current state of health (toxin load, inflammation levels, stress levels, etc.). It is recommended to gradually introduce infrared sauna therapy into your self-care routine but once you are used to it you can utilize this therapy daily if desired. Studies show that those who use sauna therapy 1-5 times per week have a reduced risk of all-cause mortality! Not only does it prolong our lives but it helps us feel our best every day!

  • Our unit has a max of 160-170 degrees, although each client has full control over the temperature. You can rest assured knowing you are receiving the maximum amount of benefits without having to be miserably hot or uncomfortable.

  • Some sweat more than others, some sweat more each time they use the sauna, there is no “right” or “wrong”. Our sauna is affecting you on a cellular and tissue level, therefore your healing is not dependent on the amount of sweat you sweat, if any at all. Sometimes lack of sweating can indicate a sluggish lymphatic system.

Trauma Informed + Body Positive Massage

  • Massage therapy can be a very helpful tool to introduce, or reintroduce, safe touch to the body, which communicates safety to your nervous system and engages our parasympathetic response, reducing the “fight or flight” response that can occur from chronic stress or traumatic experiences.

Our specialty at Haven is providing a safe environment for healing that is catered to your specific needs and comforts. This means empowering the client to have a say in their session such as what areas are worked on and avoided, pressure levels, clothing levels, what modalities or upgrades are utilized, etc. We encourage (and rely on) communication in our massage rooms to give the most effective and comfortable session we can.

  • We believe that everyone can benefit from this approach to massage therapy because everyone deserves a safe and client-centered treatment whether you consider yourself a trauma survivor or not. There are varying degrees of trauma, and most of us have experienced chronic stress or traumatic experiences — some that we may not remember or be aware of — and those can actually be held in our physical tissues and energetic fields, affecting our health and our lives in many ways. We believe it is necessary to be aware of the person on our massage table and honor where they are. We understand the weight and importance of trusting someone with your body and energy and we do not take your trust lightly.

  • We aim to provide a non-judgmental space for you to receive your service without feeling the need to apologize for your body in any way. We will not blame your pain on your weight or encourage any negative self-talk while you’re here. We celebrate your body’s ability to heal itself and all that it does for you! We are here for your healing and are not here to judge you for your appearance — skin color, scars, weight, body hair, gender expression, non-pedicured feet, etc. — these things do not impact your right to a healing experience and do not affect the way you will be treated here.

Energy + Sound Healing

  • Energy Healing techniques will be paired with the healing therapy of frequency (sound) via crystal sound bowls to encourage the client’s energy field to release any stuck or stagnant energy/emotions/experiences, and bring a sense of peace, relaxation, clarity, and balance to the energetic body.

Oracle Readings

  • An oracle reading is performed by an experienced intuitive. Generally the client may have a topic or question they are looking for guidance and clarity on. The reader pulls oracle cards from various oracle decks and helps interpret and decipher the messages for the client. This service is a great way to gain new perspectives and connect with your own intuition.

These readings are performed 1:1 in a private spa room.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage is an extremely gentle method that aims to improve the flow of lymphatic fluid. Our lymphatic system and network is superficial under the skin and is responsible for waste and toxin transportation and removal, and it can become stagnant, causing edema, affecting our body's ability to properly detox, and other health issues.

As with any practices that promote detoxing, some may experience some mild flu-like symptoms after their service. We always recommend staying hydrated and resting post MLD massage. This is dependent on lifestyle, and toxin load.

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage does not hurt as it is performed with a very light touch.

  • While MLD can definitely help with recovery post injury and surgery, it is best to have your doctor clear you for this treatment. We require a doctor’s note if you are coming in within 6 weeks of your surgery. Our MLD sessions do not include draining any ports, open wounds, or external fluids of any kind post lipo/BBL/any other surgery.
